Here comes the long delayed list of what I would change in my country - in fact, in about any country I know.
(pardon the subjectivity, but hey! that's how it works in democracy. I just need to find my majority)
The list is actually on the wiki because I plan to update it at will (or the change of thereof)

If I ruled the world...
Gosh, it begins to make sense...
...to watch out with meat!
The idea of eating the poor animals bred in huge intensive farming complexes was not my favourite thought for some time already. But after reading this article, I also made a link from the conditions, in which the animals are kept in there, and the development of the nasty diseases, featuring the last two killer flu sorts. It could be simple:
Avian flu - chicken factory farms
Swine flu - swine farms
And we're talking places, where the animal density (read: profit) is taken to extremes (read: extreme profit). Probably, those nasty viruses would not come to life in a small, traditional farm.
But what comes out of that..? A couple of things:
1) Damn, I will be eating less meat (which was already underway for some time now) and
1a) unfortunately buying more expensive, "bio" meat
2) The developing world will be consuming more and more meat - because they couldn't afford it before! - and thus will stimulate the growth of this industry. Dang. More nasty flu sorts
3) Again, it turns out I'm a political green, coz I now support the European legislations which limit a bit the factory farming. In Poland, people have protested against them for a long time due to the smell, pollution and tremendous business competition from these guys
4) Big "hahahaha!" at the American guys: some 80% of your meat comes from those places. Bon Apetit!

EU Commission not just for straightening bananas!
Most of the mobile phone producers have come up with a common document which will lead to substituting all the custom mobile charger sockets with a micro-usb socket.
Result? Maybe already in 2010 you'll be able to buy a mobile phone with with a standard charging usb plug and soon everybody around will be running around, using other people's chargers and recycling chargers from eg. previous phones.
And we're not talking some mobile phones here; the list includes Apple, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG and Motorola.
What's the reason for that? EU noticed that old chargers that never find another use as the socket changes every couple of years, create an additional heap of trash. So, it prompted the producers to come up with a solution.
Now, the only thing to do is to let people buy mobiles without the chargers, so that the old ones will be recycled, after everybody has one of those micro-usb plugs at home. Voila.
The future just got a bit brighter. How about more recyclable mobiles now?

The blague of a blog
Hey, so you really want to find something that would do all the job for you AND do it exactly the way you want?
...oh, and all this within 1h of work for setting up and installing..
Join the club, then! Because that's what I'm searching for. A kick-ass blog/CMS system that would let you go crazy and mix all possible styles in the world. Out-of-the-box. I've heard that artificial intelligence is making rapid progress recently. This is how I want it to work:
Now, that would be something, right? Let's face it - all the ready-made blog/CMS packages are some kind of system - and what is a system for..? Regulation and restriction. So, unless your editor is a chalkboard or vim, you've gotta settle for some restrictions.
But no worry, friends, punk is not yet dead.

- Computer, start a new page in my blog. Make it cheerful.
- I have done so.
- Oh, and start with a fancy initial. I'm feeling a bit mediaeval today...
- Done already, I also included a generic woodcut to suit it.
- Excellent. We'll be writing about the superiority of the Teutons over the Knights templars.
- You know I can't let you do that, Dave...
etc, etc.
